Hier soir pendant une courte période Magical Garden fut transformé. Le vent soufflait fort, le tonnerre grondait et le jardin a pris des couleurs très étonnantes en attendant l'orage qui finalement a décidé de continuer son chemin.

Last night Magical Garden seemed to undergo a transformation, the colours completely altered. The roll of distant thunder and the high wind finally subsided as the storm passed over the garden.

Un début d'arc en ciel au fond du jardin. Pour vous donner une idée de la transformation, le petit bout de mur que vous voyez à gauche est blanc normalement mais ici il est doré.

De l'autre côté de la maison, une toute autre scène, le ciel en feu.

On the other side of the house a completely different sight, the sky on fire.

Et pour clore tout cela une photo prise peu de temps après par Happy Api. La lune, elle, pas du tout impressionnée par l'orage est restée imperturbable et souriante!

Finally a photo taken a little later by Happy Api. The moon was just the same as ever. She wasn't going to be impressed by some passing storm !

Marie-Claude nous propose de présenter nos 5 meilleures réussites du SOL 2015. C'était ma première participation et j'ai eu le plaisir de voir beaucoup des graines semées devenir de jolies petites plantules. Mais j'ai perdu pas mal de ces plantules par la suite pour des raisons diverses mais surtout à cause des effets néfastes de la canicule.

Voici mes meilleures réussites.

Encore une, la fleur est tellement belle

Merci à vous tous pour ces merveilleuses graines qui ont transformé mon jardin. Maintenant il mérite son nom de Magical Garden.

Les règles du jeu limitent la quantité qu'on doit montrer à 5. Comme je suis très respectueuses de tous les règlements j'arrête là ! Mais il y en a d'autres  et je continuerai à poster des photos de temps en temps.

L'année dernière j'ai décidé de créer un nouveau massif au fond du jardin en remplacement d'arbustes morts. Voici la photo prise après les travaux d'arrachage et de débroussaillage. J'avais laissé un pied d'Agastache Blue Fortune qui était encore très fleuri début octobre. Happy Api l'avait confondu avec une mauvaise herbe plus tôt dans l'année  et l'avait décapité impitoyablement avec sa faux. En fin de compte je n'étais pas mécontente du tout de sa malencontreuse initiative qui a permis cette floraison tardive !

Last year I decided to plant a new border at the end of the garden where previously there had been a mess of dead shrubs, brambles, weeds, the lot ! This photo was taken after I had cleared up the area. The Agastache Blue Fortune was left at the front of the border as it was still blooming at the beginning of October. Happy Api, mistaking it for a weed, had ruthlessly hacked away at it earlier in the year ! Finally his enormous blunder resulting in this late flowering was definitely to my liking.

J'ai commencé à planter. Voici une photo prise fin octobre, avec l'agastache en pleine floraison au devant de la scène.

During October I started planting. This photo was taken at the end of October and the Agastache, still in full bloom, holds pride of place.

Courant novembre j'ai continué à planter : des vivaces et 3 rosiers.

During November I carried on planting : 3 rosebushes and several perennials.

L'agastache a finalement été déplacée vers l'arrière du massif. On voit qu'elle était encore fleurie fin novembre.

The agastache was finally move to the back of the border. As you can see, it was still blooming at the end of November.

Je pensais pouvoir vous montrer un massif superbe pendant l'été mais avec la sècheresse les plantes manquaient d'eau et ont bien souffert. Les rosiers ont été très décevants pour cette première année. Pratiquement pas de fleurs. Donc pas de photo. Désolée !

C'est seulement depuis quelques jours que le massif  commence à être présentable après deux épisodes pluvieux et avec la floraison des plantes d'automne.

I had thought I'd be able to show you a superb border during the summer but the drought was so severe that the plants suffered greatly. Everything looked so parched and the rosebushes hardly produced any flowers so I'm afraid there are no photos of that period.

The border has only just started to look presentable after two heavy rainfalls and with the incipient blooming of autumn flowers.

Voilà l'histoire du massif du fond. Et la jardinière dans tout cela ? Beaucoup d'espoir et d'enthousiasme au début, suivi par une grande déception et un certain découragement pour finalement être réconciliée avec ce nouveau massif et avec le jardinage en général. Ouf !

Here ends the story of the bottom of the garden border. What about the gardener ? A great hope and enthusiasm to start with, followed by a great disappointment and disheartenment and finally a reconciliation with this new border and with gardening in general. Thank heavens for that !

Magical Garden a le blues. Il manque de couleur à la suite de la longue sécheresse de ces derniers temps. Allons-y pour les fleurs bleues qui se trouvent dans le jardin actuellement.

L'agapanthe n'est plus en fleurs depuis 15 jours.

The agapanthus has no longer been in bloom for a couple of weeks.

Last but not least un très beau dahlia, acquis cette année. Il s'appelle Bluebell mais je ne le trouve pas tellement bleu !

Cela fait un an, le 16 août 2014, que j'ai commencé ce blog.

I started this blog exactly one year ago.

Je n'ai plus de bougies chez moi donc j'en ai choisi une dans le jardin.

There are no candles left in the house so I chose one in the garden.

Et le gâteau ? Pas le temps d'en faire un mais il y a tout ce qu'il faut dans le jardin.

Merci pour votre fidélité, vos commentaires et vos encouragements. J'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à écrire ce blog et j'ai découvert le merveilleux monde de la blogosphère. Grâce à ce blog j'ai fait des rencontres passionnantes et il y en a d'autres de prévues dans les jours à venir. Ces dernières semaines, un peu découragée par la sècheresse et la canicule, j'ai ralenti le rythme, mais aujourd'hui il pleut des cordes. Le jardin est heureux et moi aussi ! Ca s'arrose ! Que la fête commence ! Venez souffler cette première bougie avec moi !
